The Missing Osheaga Festival-Goer Has Been Found Dead, Here's What Police Know So Far
Longueuil Police authorities have announced that Collins Obiagboso, the 18-year-old boy who went missing from last weekend's Osheaga Festival, has been found dead.
Obiagboso reportedly travelled to Montreal from Ottawa in late July, and met up with friends to attend the festival this past weekend. He got separated from the group on Friday, August 3rd. His friends reported him missing two days later, on Sunday. The search began, and Obiagboso's mother arrived in the city to help look for her son.
On Monday, police pulled a body from the St. Lawrence River. Police authorities confirmed yesterday that the body has been identified as Collins Obiagboso.
Obiagboso and his friends rented an Airbnb apartment to stay in together. They collectively agreed to leave their cellphones and wallets in the apartment so they didn't get stolen at the festival.

One friend of Obiagboso's says that the two of them were "pretty close to the mosh pit" and that "people were pushing him," which led to him getting lost in the crowd. "I didn’t have my phone, he didn’t have his phone, it was the last I saw of him. He didn’t have any money to get home," the friend told CTV News.
Longueuil Police discovered an unidentified body in the river on Monday. The identity was confirmed as Obiagboso's shortly afterwards, and police made a public statement on Tuesday evening.

“He should have known better," his mother told CTV, "Even if he’s just with a friend, he could borrow a phone, call us or text on social media. He should have been able to do that, but I don’t know where to look for him right now.”
Obiagboso's death marks the very first fatal tragedy at the Osheaga Festival. An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.
