Unbelievable Photos Of Newfoundland's Record-Breaking Snowstorm Today

The tragic story of Newfoundland's May snow storm, in photos.

Our hearts go out to those affected by the latest tragedy to strike the great nation of Canada - Newfoundland's record breaking snowstorm at the end of May. While many other provinces are enjoying sunny skies and summer-like heat today, Newfoundland residents are busy digging themselves out of 30 centimetres of snow.

Schools are closed, cities have shut down, and the people of Newfoundland are bracing themselves for another 5 to 10  centimetres of snowfall by the end of today. Some areas have already peaked at about 32 centimetres , setting new records in central Newfoundland.

We've rounded up some of the most shocking and unbelievable photos from the last 24 hours. Warning: these might give you flashbacks of brutal winter days.

I guess we can start our snow shoe season early this year.... Lol #May24th #Newfoundland #explorenl #ExploreCanada @NLtweets #snow pic.twitter.com/sYWav6T0GC
