This Small Texas Town Has Scenic Train Rides And A Beautiful Hidden Waterfall

So many things to do in one spot!

Big cities are amazing to explore, but sometimes they can get to be a little too much. Thankfully, there are so many cute small towns to visit in Texas and this one should definitely be at the top of your list to go see this summer. The Texas town of Palestine has so much green life and fun things to do, it makes it the perfect place for a day trip. Whether you are taking a trip on their amazing trains or visiting their hidden waterfall, it's sure to be enough to make the trip memorable.

Palestine is one of the two home stops of the Texas State Railroad, along with Rusk, Texas, where you can take an amazingly scenic ride through the piny woods starting at just $45. You can even enjoy a drink or two along the way! You can also visit their awesome Wolf Creek Lake where you will find their small waterfall that is not just perfectly Instagrammable, but also amazingly refreshing. The lake is in the forest so there is plenty of shade to protect you from that hot Texas sun.

The entire town is covered in rich Texas history that you can learn about. There are statues all over the place and there are plenty of tours you can take to get well informed on all the happenings in town.

But that's not all, of course, the town has tons of great dessert and breakfast shops including Jocelyn's Donuts, where they have crazy themed donuts and Mama's Raspados w Jamie's Sweet Creations where they have some crazy awesome taco ice cream desserts.

Staying in Palestine, there are several options from more modern hotels to historical estates in all price points so there this something for everyone.

Palestine is just about an hour and a half outside of the Dallas area. To find out more about the town and their upcoming events, you can visit their town website here.
