"The widespread snow that picked up through the evening and overnight hours on Monday has ended across southern Ontario, but slippery conditions are still resulting in a tough commute Tuesday morning. Beyond today, expect a 'wintermission' as temperatures rise and snow melts," the Weather Network stated.

"The morning rush Tuesday is looking snowy and slippery," says The Weather Network's Rachel Schoutsen. "A truck has jackknifed on the 401 at Leslie and it seems like there are a lot of spin outs at the 410/403 connection."

That's after 5-10 cm of snow fell across the Greater Toronto Area Monday night, with some areas picking up closer to 15 cm.

But there's good news for the days ahead. Temperatures are on the rise with a stretch of warmer days expected to hit Toronto by Friday with near to above seasonal temperatures dominate next week.
