You Can Drive Through A Mile-Long Wonderland Of A Million Lights In Jacksonville Soon
Florida may not have an ideal climate to enjoy the holiday spirit with the same intensity as places further north, but it certainly has some of the best-illuminated attractions you'll ever see. This year in Jacksonville you can drive through lit tunnels featuring giant Christmas trees, holiday characters, and millions of dazzling lights. If you're looking for things to do in Jacksonville this Christmas, Jax Illuminations is the bright paradise you won't want to miss.
This drive-thru show is a luminous extravaganza of millions of lights. Here you will be driving through a whole mile of illuminated paths, tunnels and giant light sculptures of candy canes, trains, presents, and sleds.
The Christmas lights will be perfectly synchronized with your favorite holiday music. Once you get to the premises the only thing you have to do is tune a specific radio station. Simply magical.
From November 20 to January 4, you can go with family or friends to enjoy this incredible attraction in Jacksonville. It's going to be a lot of fun and the perfect place to get in the festive mood. They will be providing goody bags with candy canes and tiny presents for kids, and you can bring some hot cocoa and snacks for your passengers to enjoy.
They will be open from Sunday to Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., and on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Have in mind that on Sunday, December 22 and Monday 23, they will have extended hours until 10:30 p.m.
Different admission tickets are depending on the day you visit. If you go from Sunday to Thursday, admission is $20 per car (up to 7 people) and each additional person pays $2. On the other hand, if you go on Friday or Saturday the entrance is $25 per car (up to 7 people) and each additional person pays $2. Van drivers pay $35 any day. Have in mind that cars must measure 7 feet or less, and they're not accepting buses on the premises.
Since this attraction is very sensitive to climate changes, organizers encourage you to call (904) 316-5673 or at least check their Facebook page to confirm if they will be open before going in the event of rain or high wind.
Jax Illuminations, LLC is a local family-owned business created by people who love Christmas as much as you do. They want you to have the best time ever in their property, so there are a few simple rules. First one, for safety never leave your car for pictures during the route. And second, turn off your car's lights so you get to better enjoy the show.
Weekends and the week of Christmas have become very busy with wait times that sometimes exceed 2 hours. Jax Illuminations will post wait times on Facebook and on the digital sign at the entrance of the parking lot to the show. The days with shorter lines are usually Monday – Wednesday.
