Amazon is hiring for 9,000 seasonal jobs in Canada and the average pay is almost $24 an hour
You can get the Employee Grocery and Daily Essentials Discount.
Amazon has 9,000 seasonal jobs for the holidays available in Canada.
The average pay for these positions is almost $24 an hour, and seasonal employees get workplace benefits like a discount on grocery purchases.
On October 20, Amazon announced that seasonal hiring for 2026 includes 9,000 seasonal jobs at 55 sites across Canada to help with the holiday rush.
Since the holidays are one of the busiest times of year at Amazon, with millions of Canadians buying gifts and essentials sometimes at the last minute, the company needs workers to stow, pick, pack, sort and ship customer orders.
The new seasonal jobs are at Amazon Canada fulfillment centres, sortation centres, and delivery stations across the country.
Employees at fulfillment centres receive and put away inventory, ensure products meet quality requirements, get orders ready and pack them, and load boxes onto trucks for shipment.
At sortation centres, you have to receive and sort inventory, get customer orders ready, and pack the orders.
Workers at delivery stations receive and prepare inventory for delivery, use smartphones and handheld devices to sort, scan and prepare orders, receive truck deliveries, and build, wrap, sort and transport pallets and packages.
The average base wage for these seasonal jobs is nearly $24 an hour now, which is more than the minimum wage in every province.
Amazon also offers a workplace benefits package to seasonal employees that's available on their first day of employment.
The benefits include mental health and wellbeing support through Amazon's Employee Assistance Program and the new Employee Grocery and Daily Essentials Discount, which gives eligible employees 10% off grocery and daily essentials purchases through Amazon.ca with no cap on savings.
You can apply for seasonal positions online, and Amazon will continuously add job postings to the hiring site throughout the holiday season.
Amazon said these seasonal jobs are also opportunities for workers to transition into permanent positions after the holidays.
This year, the company has invested more than $78 million in pay increases for operations employees in Canada and boosted the average base wage to more than $26 per hour. That means full-time employees working 40 hours a week earn more than $54,000 a year on average.

Province keeps free winter sand program after public pushback
New Brunswick reverses decision to axe long‑standing practice
After a string of public complaints about the Holt government’s decision to cancel free public access to sand, the province has reversed course.
On Thursday, Oct. 15, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Chuck Chaisson confirmed that residents would still have access to free sand this winter.
“Sand will continue to be available for residential use at DTI depots that have traditionally offered it to their communities,” said Chaisson.
For two weeks, people took to social media to complain about the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure's plan to stop public access to sand.
Opposition MLAs, municipal leaders, and residents criticized the decision, warning it could increase slip‑and‑fall risks for seniors and rural homeowners.
Senior Director and Media Relations, Bruce MacFarlane, said safety remains the department’s top priority.
“Depots that have maintained offering public access to winter sand will continue to do so outside the depot gates for the upcoming winter season and going forward, where it is safe to do so,” said MacFarlane.
MacFarlane stressed that the sand is for residential use only, and contractors and municipalities must obtain material elsewhere. He also said that depots are active worksites with heavy equipment in operation and urged caution when accessing them.
Woodstock‑Hartland MLA Bill Hogan praised residents who pushed back against the proposed cancellation.
“To those of you who contacted the Minister or Premier on cutting the sand program, congratulations. This time they listened,” said Hogan.

Tony Romo Proved He’s The Best Sports Commentator Last Night With His Hilarious 'Rocky' Quotes
If you're familiar with the Dallas Cowboys, then you're familiar with Tony Romo, it's just that simple. The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback has taken up several hobbies since his days on the field, including sports commentating! After lots of practice, "Tony Romo" and "sports commentator" have become something you can often hear in the same sentence and he was hitting an ultimate high last night.
Fans had a lot of good things to say about Romo's commentating skills last night, especially with him throwing in the enthusiastic Rocky reference.
We'll get to that later.
It's not uncommon to see former NFL players on the other side of the sports world once their career on the field comes to an end, but it is worth celebrating when they end up being great at it.
When you're as big of a legend as Romo is, you certainly have the upper hand.
Twitter user CoachTeixeira tweeted "Tony romo with the greatest commentary of all time!"
They followed up their claim with a line that Romo used during his commentary of the Texan game. "'It’s like watching Rocky when he’s getting punched over and over, he’s not losing he’s getting mad!'”
If there's an easy way to win people's hearts when it comes to commentating, it's quoting one of the greatest movies ever made.
Certainly, other factors play a role, such as voice, tone, and overall knowledge of the sport that's being broadcast.
Sports fans are a tough crowd to please, so sometimes even that isn't enough!
Twitter user aubreyybadger tweeted "Me listening to any other commentator vs. me listening to Tony Romo," with a hilarious dog meme below it.
The dog is clearly upset in the first photo, and blissful in the second.
Now that Romo has gotten such a great reaction from fans, his current free agent status may be changing very soon.
Rumors have it that ESPN is preparing a massive offer for Romo to leave CBS as an analyst and become the lead analyst for ESPN's "Monday Night Football."
It'd be silly for him to turn it down, so it's just a matter of time before he's back in the big leagues!
Like @DavidWysong_ tweeted above, "Every game is 100 times better when Tony Romo is commentating it."
You've got that right!
