Toronto Is Under A Sweaty & Sticky Heat Warning Today With Temps Feeling Like 40 C

Residents are being warned to seek shade and other cool shelters.

Make sure to stay hydrated today! A Toronto heat warning has been issued and sweltering conditions will hit the city today, with daytime highs expected to feel close to 40 degrees.

According to Environment Canada, the scorching heat and humidity will reduce air quality, with a possibility for the Air Quality Health Index to move to the high-risk category.

"Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place. Check on older family, friends and neighbours. Make sure they are cool and drinking water," an excerpt from the warning reads.

Residents are also being reminded to reduce their time outdoors to avoid the effects of heat illness. Exposure to extreme heat can cause swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke.

The sticky temperatures are expected to continue throughout the weekend and into next week, with it feeling like 35 or above every day until Friday.
