14 Videos That Show How Toronto Couldn't Handle The Brutal Snowstorm This Weekend
Toronto got blasted with quite the storm this weekend as 17.2 centimetres of snow fell at Pearson Airport. This was a new daily record for the city and seemed to be more than people could handle. The Toronto snowstorm had cars swerving on the roads, TTC buses losing control, and Torontonians slipping on the icy sidewalks. The roads were out of control, and it was reported that there were over 250 accidents, according to Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of the OPP. Luckily, no fatalities were reported. However, videos online show that people got themselves into quite the mess while trying to coexist with the heavy snow. While the snowfall wasn't as bad as in Newfoundland, who got over 70 centimetres of the white stuff, the 6ix was still attempting to adapt to the thick layer of wet snow. However, while some people managed to get into little road trouble, others braved the conditions. Some videos have even surfaced online of people biking and skiing throughout the city.In fact, despite the bad road conditions, it seems as Toronto's inner Canadian shined through as locals were spotted chilling wine, building snowmen and enjoying all the good the storm had to offer.
While a majority of the snow has been cleared, Toronto is still in for another few months of winter.

While it wasn't the storm of the century like Newfoundland experienced, it's always fun to see how people fare in those harsh conditions. The snow cleared up for now, but we still have another few months to wait out, and anything can happen. Stay warm Toronto, and enjoy the snow!
