Saturday Morning In The GTA Will Feel Up To 25C Colder Than Friday
We may be two days into spring at this point, but the 6ix doesn't care. In fact, Toronto weather is ready to remind us that it's really, really unpredictable. The GTA was enjoying spring-like temperatures that comfortably reached the high teens on Friday morning, March 20, but an up-to-25 C plunge is coming overnight.
As the GTA experienced spring-like temperatures on Friday, there was hope that we might all be able to get off the sofa and out for a lovely warm solo walk this weekend.
After all, we're all cooped up at home right now, following the province's advice about social distancing as society attempts to stem the flow of COVID-19 cases.
However, according to The Weather Network, the drop from Friday's peak temperatures, recorded between 10 a.m. and noon, is going to be absolutely brutal.
TWN warns that after warmth which peaked around the early 20s C this morning, when GTA residents wake up on Saturday morning, it's likely to be around -4C.
That's an anticipated drop of up to 25 C in comparison to early on Friday, when it felt like spring had properly sprung at last.
That's apparently thanks to some northwest winds blowing in and drastically cooling the air around Toronto and southern Ontario.

So much for the 6ix feeling like we're back in to spring weather.
Friday was gorgeously warm in some places, not that all us Ontarians stuck at home would necessarily have known about it.
What was unignorable, though, was the wind and rain storm that hit the GTA on Friday along with those temperatures.

As the warmth started to fade away a blanket of fog even enveloped Toronto at one point, and areas of southern Ontario were hit with gusts of up to 90 km/h.
So maybe staying indoors might not seem like such a bad idea, after all.
After all, it's not like you can (or should) be doing much right now.
The City of Toronto has urged all non-essential shops to close across the 6ix including night clubs, bars, and dine-in restaurants.
So, maybe this ridiculous temperature drop is a good thing? It gives us all the excuse we need to stay home right now, at least.
