You've heard of beer festivals, cider festivals and even coffee festivals—but have you ever gone to a root beer festival? There's a beloved candy shop in Langley that puts on this annual sugar rush where you can try dozens of varieties of root beer. There will be over 50 different kinds of rootbeer to sample from across the continent so you'll really get a taste for what's possible with your favourite pop flavour.

This epic event for those with a sweet tooth is taking place in Downtown Langley at Douglas Park. It'll happen rain or shine so bring a raincoat if the weather looks dicey that morning! This is a really fun idea for a day trip from Vancouver this spring so grab your sweetest friends and take them out to taste root beers.

In addition to the massive variety of root beers you can try root beer floats, root beer ice cream, root beer pastries, root beer candies and, this is true, root beer cotton candy! You can really take your obsession with root beer all the way at this festival and you can buy root beer by the case. There will also be live music and vendors to enjoy while you're in a sugary haze.

The 4th Annual Root Beer Festival is happening on Saturday, May 25 from 11 AM to 3 PM at Douglas Park in Langley. It's about a one hour drive away from Vancouver. It's totally free to attend and you can buy tickets for root beer tastings online and on-site.

Also, it's worth noting that they might not be selling tickets for samples onsite if they sell out online before the start of the festival. Buy your sample tickets early to save disappointment and maybe share your sample pack with a friend to avoid a sugar crash!
