Vanessa Hudgens Just Opened Up About Her Relationship With Zac Efron And It's Apparently 2006 Again

When High School Musical came out, it was an absolute phenomenon. It was all anyone listened to and watched for years, or at least I did. However, one of the best parts was knowing that Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez, the Disney couple, were a couple in real life. That never happens. Vanessa Hudgens opens up about her relationship with Zac Efron.

If you're one of the 10 people in the world who hasn't seen High School Musical, it's about a teen guy and girl who meet while on a family vacation over winter break. Gabriella ends up transferring to Troy's school and from there, a high school musical is put on and the two fall in love. Not without a little drama though. This storyline went on for two more movies. 

From 2006 to 2010, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron were in a pretty serious relationship. However, once they broke up, they didn't remain friends. Vanessa Hudgens finally opened up about that time in her life, and it's juicy. While talking to Awards Chatter Podcast, she told them, "It started off really organically. I could not have been more grateful to have that relationship at the time." 

She even mentioned Zac was her rock throughout it because fame can be a 'foreign' thing. "It was this massive phenomenon and all eyes were on me. And it's just a really weird foreign thing to go through, and by being in a relationship, it kind of kept me stabilized and grounded, and I had someone to lean on who was going through it as well."

The two were completely inseparable throughout their relationship, but like with anything, all good things must come to an end. Vanessa actually spoke about one of their fights, which was in front of everyone at a HSM rehearsal. "I remember one time we did have a fight and it was while we were at rehearsals, and I remember Kenny Ortega coming around the corner with the most concerned look on his face like, 'Oh no, is our movie going to fall apart right?'"

While the two broke up almost 10 years ago, they've both moved on to other people. Zac has dated a few people since then, but Vanessa has been in a committed relationship with Austin Butler since 2011.
