Raptors Fans Live Up To The Canadian Stereotype Of Being Really, Really Polite (VIDEO)

We're Canadian. We're polite. We love it.

When it comes to being polite, we Canadians may have just outdone ourselves. Crowds celebrated in the streets of Toronto after the home team claimed victory over the Golden State Warriors during last night's Game 3 of the NBA Finals. But, it's this video of Raptors fans that's going viral for being so Canadian, it hurts.

A video posted on Twitter depicts rowdy Raptors fans celebrating Wednesday's win in the middle of an all-way crosswalk at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto. As soon as the light turns green, the fans interrupt their cheers to politely move over onto the sidewalk and let cars pass.

Throughout the NBA post-season, Raptors fans have been notoriously characterized for their civility and decorum. Even Golden State Warriors player Klay Thompson remarked about how much he appreciated Toronto's kindness. Warriors coach Steve Kerr echoed a similar sentiment during an interview.

Comedian and late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel joked about Canadians' inability to trash talk the Warriors.  When Entertainment Tonight Canada covered the story, they claimed that Canadians simply were too polite to trash talk their opponents.

One woman said, "I would not do that against anybody.  Canadians don’t do that."  A man explained, "No, no, no, we are polite, we are Canadians."  Another woman and her kids took a turn roasting the Warriors, and ended up with this: "We’re Trini, we cook curry, so Curry’s gonna get cooked." Points for creativity for that one!

In response to the failed attempts at hurling insults at the Warriors, Kimmel jokingly replied, "My God, what kind of monsters are those people?"

Raptors fans outside of downtown Toronto's Jurassic Park were photographed with less-than-offensive "diss signs" by Canadian TV show Our Morning Show.  The TV show hosts even joined in on the fun with their own takes on polite signs.

Thanks for making Canada proud, Raptors fans!
