Is this the future of transportation? The Lake Ontario Express is a company that has proposed using hovercrafts to travel from Toronto to Niagara-on-the-Lake
Their plan is this: Operate two hovercrafts, each with a 40-person capacity, for 18 hours a day for a one hour trip between Toronto and Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Though there isn't much of a time difference in the commute time, the appeal of riding on a hovercraft is definitely real. Lake Ontario Express plans on charging only $25 per ride, making it an extremely affordable option compared to the bus or the cost of gas.
Lake Ontario Express is still working out a few kinks, but their goal is to be up and running by 2018.
